Basically, large corner bathtubs include all large bathtubs that can only be placed in a corner due to their shape or integrated tub paneling. However, models with a classic triangular shape or the typical trapezoidal shape also fit perfectly into the corner of the bathroom and are also ideal as large corner bathtubs for two people. A corner tub like this is particularly suitable as a large bathtub in spacious bathrooms. It is often equipped with a practical shelf on which bathroom accessories can be placed.

Large freestanding bathtubs

Large freestanding bathtubs are perfect for large bathrooms. If the idea of a completely freestanding bathtub does not suit your needs, you can place the tub against one wall so that it is accessible from the other three sides. Models with this type of installation are called pre-wall bathtubs. Alternatively, you can have a half-height wall built to position the tub against. This can also offer numerous design options and efficient use of space. However, this requires that the water connections be relocated.

Rectangular bathtubs have proven themselves as classic beauties among large and small bathtubs. Like corner tubs, they can be mounted on two walls if desired. The conventional bathtub in a large format offers plenty of space for your morning or evening routine as well as for relaxing wellness moments. It impresses with its clear geometric design, which can be accentuated with unusual faucets if desired.

How many liters fit in a bathtub?

The average capacity of a classic bathtub for a full bath with standard dimensions of 180 x 80 cm is between 150 and 180 liters of water. Large bathtubs can even have a usable volume of 200 to 300 liters. How much water actually fits into a bathtub depends on three main factors:

Size

The longer and wider the floor space and the higher the bathtub rim, the greater the possible filling capacity.

Form

The shape of the interior of the tub also plays an important role, e.g., the steepness of the walls.

Position of the overflow

The lower the overflow and the associated water level, the smaller the filling quantity.

However, the capacity of a tub is never fully utilized solely due to the displacement of water by the body. In addition, the preferred fill level also depends on the height of the tub and the preferred sitting or lying position.

Whether a large bathtub is suitable for your bathroom is always a question of personal taste and the layout of the room. In long, symmetrical bathrooms, a large rectangular bathtub fits harmoniously into the overall design.
