'Pure nature' is the motto here: the “Casa RDG” chalet is an architectural eye-catcher in the middle of the breathtaking mountain panorama around Mont Blanc. Designed by Studio Oikos, a renowned architecture and interior design studio in Milan, the energy-optimised apartment building blends in perfectly with its surroundings thanks to its traditional appearance. The basic idea for the architectural style was inspired by the Haute-Savoie farmhouses that were once common in the area. The exterior façade and interior design harmonise perfectly with each other: solid, untreated reclaimed wood runs from the exterior walls to the interior walls, the floor and the furniture, like a common thread through Oikos' successful concept. Complemented by granite elements and two large fireplaces, the result is a natural, simple and timeless interior. The lowered ground floor and large windows blur the boundary between inside and outside, bringing nature directly into the living room. The natural ambience is stylishly interrupted only by stainless steel elements in the kitchen and modern interpretations of chandeliers. The effective combination of wood and stone is continued in a minimalist way in the bathrooms. The Vero countertop washbasins from Duravit are beautifully highlighted by indirect lighting and fit perfectly into the tidy overall picture.
