"Mori", Japanese for "forest", is designed as a holiday home with space for four people, with a clear focus on sustainability. The minimalist yet elegant interior extends to the bathroom fittings: selected individual pieces from the Happy D.2 collection by Duravit emphasize the feel-good factor.
Consistently sustainable
Mori was built according to the wabi-sabi approach, which emphasizes seven Japanese principles. The three main principles of the tiny house are: durability, simplicity and imperfection.
The owners made sketches of the façade and floor plan, which were implemented by a local construction company. Because Mori is located in the forest, good insulation and durable and resilient workmanship were extremely important. The base of the house, for example, is made of robust wood, and the interior walls are simply clad with plasterboard.
In their considered choice of materials, the clients placed great emphasis not only on aesthetics and appearance, but also on durable, natural and recyclable materials. For example, the walls are painted with a natural lime paint and the floors are covered with the world's only 100% recyclable PVC flooring.
Comfort in a small space
With a few select furnishings and a harmonious color scheme using light, natural colors in combination with wood tones, the homeowners have created a stylish and warm atmosphere that invites you to feel at home. The pellet stove, which provides cozy warmth on cold days, also contributes to this.
Despite the reduced floor space, you don't feel cramped in the Mori Tiny House, which is also thanks to the generous window areas that open up the view to the outside and the surrounding landscape.
Feel-good experience in the bathroom
The interior design concept is continued in the bathroom with elegant and durable furnishings from the Happy D.2 Plus series by Duravit – a real feel-good experience for guests. The white ceramic washbasin is connected to a floor-standing, height-adjustable metal console in black matt, which has an integrated towel holder. The integrated drawer in brushed walnut is extended on the side by a practical seating element, creating a tidy look with the additional storage space gained in this way. A circular mirror with an ambient light and colored light change function and mirror heating is a visual highlight.
The shower area, which is even connected to an outdoor shower, was equipped with a stonetto shower tray made of DuraSolid® Q, whose matt surface has an authentic, stone-like appearance.
The bathroom fittings are rounded off with a shower toilet: SensoWash® Starck f offers hygienic cleanliness, ease of use and sustainable design.
