Suitable materials for natural bathrooms
The most important aspect of a natural bathroom is the materials. It should, of course, be as natural as possible.

Wood
Wood is a must in a natural bathroom. This material should therefore be used especially for bathroom furniture in a natural bathroom. Grained woods are generally recommended instead of high-gloss finishes.

Stone
Natural stone perfectly complements all types of wood. In natural bathrooms, for example, it shines as a material for countertops and vanity consoles or even for shower trays, complementing wooden bathroom furniture.

Bamboo
Bamboo can be used in addition to or instead of wood. It gives the natural bathroom a tropical lightness.

Bast
Much like bamboo, raffia bathroom furniture also looks great in natural bathrooms. This elegant material is particularly recommended for baskets for toiletries or laundry.
Tips for designing natural bathrooms
Not every item in the bathroom can be made of wood or stone, even in a natural bathroom. But that's not a problem. Because the same look can also be achieved with other materials. What's more, some "unnatural" items actually look really good in a natural bathroom.

Ceramics
It doesn't always have to be natural stone. Whether it's a sink or shower tray, ceramic or even innovative materials can be made to look like stone. These often offer practical advantages over natural stone: easier cleaning and maintenance, lighter material, etc. But even classic white ceramic harmonizes perfectly with a bathroom decorated in natural shades of green and brown.

Tiles
Although a natural bathroom can in principle also be fitted with a wooden floor, this is not generally recommended. This is because wood is sensitive to frequent contact with water. To bring nature into the bathroom with bathroom tiles, these are now often available in a wood look. A stone look is of course also an option.

Faucets
Even if you want to use natural materials in your bathroom wherever possible, this option is not available for bathroom faucets. Nevertheless, bathroom faucets in matching colors fit perfectly into a natural bathroom. Warm copper, bronze, or brass tones are particularly recommended. However, silver or black also look great, especially in combination with a stone look.
Tip: Although a rain shower does not automatically contribute to a natural look, this feature should not be missing in a natural bathroom! With the right shower heads, you can perfectly round off the natural experience in your bathroom.
Wall colors & lighting for natural bathrooms
It's not just the furnishings that make your bathroom a true natural bathroom; the atmosphere is also crucial. This is where wall colors and lighting come into play.

Wall paints
A bathroom in natural tones such as brown or green is an obvious choice. The natural impression is enhanced and both colors harmonize perfectly with materials such as wood or natural stone. However, subtle colors such as white or gray are also ideal for drawing attention to the natural materials and emphasizing their effect.

Lighting
Warm, heavy lighting works particularly well in natural bathrooms. Dimmable lights also help to create twilight moods and make the bathroom appear even more natural. Mirror cabinets in natural bathrooms are ideal for indirect, dimmable lighting, for example.
The right accessories in a natural bathroom
Bathroom ideas for a natural look should also take the details into account. In addition to bathroom furniture, accessories can also be used to convey a natural impression.

Plants
Plants are an obvious addition to any natural bathroom. Of course, they should receive enough light and be generally suited to the conditions in the bathroom. Flower pots with a stone look or made of raffia or bamboo are particularly suitable.

Carpets
Carpets can also be an excellent addition to a natural bathroom. A green, fluffy bathroom rug is almost indistinguishable from a soft layer of moss. This emphasizes the visual impression and makes the bathroom even more cozy.

Water features
If you prefer something a little more unusual, you can also install small water features in your natural bathroom. The splashing of a suitable fountain emphasizes the natural aspect and the relaxing atmosphere.
