Shower trays with a timeless design

Walk-in shower trays
Flush-to-floor installation is particularly suitable for open, walk-in showers and offers a barrier-free bathroom solution with a high level of comfort. In addition to the modern design, this also avoids tripping hazards. Shower trays that are flush with the floor are also very easy to clean. Especially in new buildings, more and more shower trays are being installed flush with the floor, as this is not always possible during renovations. The reason for this is that modern new buildings almost always have underfloor heating and therefore enough height in the screed to install the shower flush with the tiles. This is not always the case in renovations.

Semi-recessed shower trays
The semi-recessed version is suitable when shower trays cannot be installed flush with the floor. This may be because the screed is often not thick enough when renovating. Alternatively, the shower tray can also protrude slightly so that the installation height can be kept as low as possible. The number of centimetres involved depends on the structural conditions on site and the installation. Semi-recessed shower trays are therefore ideal for renovations.

Surface-mounted shower trays
Surface-mounted shower trays are easy to install because they just have to be placed on the screed or tiles. For example, the maximum height of the trays in our Stonetto Series is 5 cm. This installation option is usually chosen when the shower tray cannot be installed flush with the floor and is particularly suitable for renovations.

Good to Know
What should you look for when buying a shower tray?
Shower trays are as unique as their owners. Before you buy a shower tray, it’s therefore a good idea to first identify your specific needs, preferences, and requirements for a shower tray. Only once you have a clear understanding of the various features and considerations can you move on to the actual planning and make the perfect choice.
1. Shape of the shower tray
- rectangular, square, quarter circle
2. Size of the shower tray
- 80 x 80 cm - 180 x 90 cm
3. Shower Tray Material
- Acrylic shower trays: pleasant, smooth finish; lightweight; durable; easy to install; fully solid-colored; UV-stable and colorfast
- Mineral cast shower trays: slip-resistant, warm to the touch with an elegant finish, stone-like appearance and feel, fully solid-colored, high surface hardness and density, self-supporting, scratch-resistant
4. Color of the shower tray
- Acrylic Shower Trays: Glossy White
- DuraCast UltraResist Shower Trays: Anthracite, White, or Concrete

6. Coating the Shower Tray
- Acrylic Shower Trays: Optional Anti-Slip Coating
- DuroCast UltraResist Shower Trays: The material already possesses this property (Class B slip resistance)
- DuroCast Nature Shower Trays: The material itself already possesses these properties (and in matte finishes, even meets Slip Resistance Class C)
Care Instructions for Shower Trays

DuroCast® UltraResist and DuroCast® Nature
A shower tray made of the solid surface material DuroCast® UltraResist or DuroCast® Nature can also be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm water. For heavier soiling or stains, dish soap, standard cleaners, and scouring sponges can also be used. However, you should avoid abrasive cleaning agents, such as scouring cream, as well as abrasive cloths or hard sponges, and concentrated acids or alkalis (e.g., sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, or drain cleaners).

Acrylic
Acrylic shower trays should be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm water. Avoid using abrasive cloths and harsh cleaning agents. Scratches and superficial damage can also be repaired using a repair kit.
Shower Tray Accessories
Wall Profile
The Duravit wall profile for the D-Code series shower trays is designed to provide sound insulation. It is 3,300 mm long and 70 mm wide.
Sound Insulation Kit
: The sound insulation kit for shower trays offered by Duravit is available for purchase separately upon request. According to testing and certification by the Fraunhofer Institute, it complies with the requirements of VDI 4100 and DIN 4109 for sound insulation, as well as the more stringent Swiss standard SIA 181 for raw subfloors (when installed flush with the floor).
Base
Frame A base frame is not absolutely necessary for DuroCast shower trays, unless there is sufficient space (floor depth). The advantage is that it is easy to install and allows for simple adjustment of the tray’s height so that the top edge is flush with the tiles.
Shower Tray Drain System
The performance of the shower tray drain has been optimized—thanks to the development of a new drain system—to handle increased water flow from large showerheads and rain showers.
You can find the right accessories for your chosen Duravit shower tray on the respective product detail page.
