The accessible bathroom

All shower trays are also available with an anti-slip coating. The transparent but noticeable coating ensures that feet have a better grip in the tray. TÜV Rheinland has confirmed assessment group B for wet-loaded barefoot areas (DIN 51097). The comfortable floor-level DuraPlan shower is the ideal solution for barrier-free bathrooms.

The barrier-free bathroom is designed primarily with functionality and flexibility in mind. But individual needs and the degree of mobility impairment are also important parameters to consider during the planning and realization. The vanity should also be easily accessible from underneath in a wheelchair, such as D-Code Vital, DuraStyle Vital and Starck 3 Vital, which are equipped with a flat or concealed trap.

In a barrier-free bathroom, special demands are placed on the toilet in particular. To ensure that it can be used as independently as possible, the seat height should be 450–500 mm and the projection 700 mm. Models available in the D-Code, DuraStyle and Starck 3 series, for example, are designed for this. As an aid for users who need to be transferred, we recommend firmly anchored, fold-up support rails with an integrated toilet-roll holder.

Sink areas with consoles offer maximum comfort, practical storage space and individual design options for bathrooms with a feel-good atmosphere. Due to their low height, they can be easily accessed with a wheelchair in a private bathroom, even in combination with the #2631520030 vanity with a mounting height of 800 mm and a concealed trap, and provide their users with a better quality of life within their own four walls. Consoles are available in different widths and can be adapted to the respective room situation as needed.

The Architec vanity with ceramic sieve is particularly hygienic because it is easy to clean. Instead of a normal drain, where dirt and bacteria can collect, the water simply drains through small openings in the ceramic.

In a barrier-free bathroom, being able to use the fixtures and fittings as independently as possible is of central importance. The wheelchair-accessible Architec washbasin is a good example of this: with the help of the practical grip rail, wheelchair users can easily pull themselves up to the washbasin.

The shower is the scene of many dangerous falls that could be avoided with step-free access. The comfortable, floor-level DuraPlan shower is the ideal solution for barrier-free bathrooms, meets the criteria of the DIN 18025-1, 18025-2 and 18040-2E standards – and is very popular with design-oriented bathroom designers.
