Vanity units at a glance
The main difference between the various vanity units for the bathroom is their appearance. You have the choice between a vanity unit with a sink in a hanging design with or without plinth feet and a vanity unit in a console design. We will explain the advantages of each vanity unit here:
Vanity unit for wall mounting – floating design
Wall-hung vanity units do not have feet; instead, they are mounted directly on the wall under the sink. This design makes it look as if the vanity unit is floating in the bathroom. In addition to the elegant look, it also makes cleaning the floor easier.
Vanity unit in a standing position – decorative plinth feet
Vanity units are often placed on the floor without additional wall mounting. This makes them unstable and they can tip over. Duravit's floor-standing bathroom cabinets, on the other hand, are mounted on the wall. However, decorative pedestal feet are also added. They do not have a load-bearing function, but are purely decorative.
Vanity unit with console and additional elements
Vanity units from Duravit are also available with a combination of console and substructure. The bathroom vanity unit consists of two individual elements. The sink console can also be installed under the sink without a substructure or vanity unit.
High-quality design, maximum individuality

In addition, a variety of finishes offer options for customization: Vanity units in white, in light and dark tones, in wood look, matt or glossy.
What's more, Duravit vanity units are not only available with doors, but also as vanity units with drawers. Depending on the furniture and size, there can be one to four drawers. These are equipped with a modern and innovative drawer technology. The tip-on technology of the handleless drawers ensures maximum convenience: a light touch is all that is needed to open them gently. The self-closing drawers with damping close silently – even those with handles.

High load capacity and resilience
The hanging systems are made of metal and are therefore particularly robust. With a load capacity of up to 30 kg, you can easily store even heavier items in the drawers.
The drawers can be fully extended.
Thanks to the full extension, the drawers can be pulled out completely, so that even the back of the drawer is easily accessible and 100% of the storage space can be used comfortably.
Optional interior design system
The solid wood interior system can be permanently installed in the drawers at the factory, giving the furniture even more structure from the inside.
Three-dimensional adjustment
The drawers can be moved and adjusted in three dimensions for perfect alignment. Advantage: Our Duravit vanity units are delivered fully assembled and adjusted. This saves you a lot of time and hassle.
All of our vanity units, whether with a drawer or a door, have no open edges, so that they are optimally suited for use in damp rooms, even in places that are not visible. We manufacture 100% of our bathroom furniture in Germany.
What needs to be considered when installing a vanity unit?
- Vanity unit can be no higher than the sink. Measure exactly from the floor to the bottom edge of the sink. Note the different sizes of vanity units.
- Not only the height of the bathroom cabinet is important, but also the width and depth. It is advisable to match the dimensions of the cabinet to those of the sink and to precisely align the distances during installation. We offer perfectly matching sinks for every bathroom cabinet.
- One of the purposes of your vanity unit is to cover the plumbing connections, so you should make sure that the recess is large enough.
- If you decide to use a Vanity unit, you need to pay attention to the installation. The holes for the dowels should be placed in the joints, in order to avoid damaging the tiles. Again, don't forget that the top edge of the cabinet should be flush with the bottom edge of the Sink.
By the way: All our sinks are self-supporting and are firmly attached to the masonry even when combined with a vanity unit. That means the ceramic can also be mounted and used independently of the furniture.
