Patricia Urquiola describes the Balcoon range as a study in interactions between different volumes and levels which lends the room a singular dynamism. The furniture washbasins take the form of all-ceramic monolithic cuboids. The basin is seamlessly integrated into the clear-lined design which defines the overall shaping of the unit, with a narrow rim describing the outline and establishing a gentle transition from the level surface to the recess. This signature detail lends the design its special air of subtle sophistication. The Balcoon washing area solutions combine the precision design of the furniture washbasins with a well-conceived furniture concept. This allows storage solutions featuring either a plain drawer front or a drawer above an open, symmetrically divided compartment. The semi-tall cabinet continues this design idea, offering additional storage space behind a hinged door while the symmetrically designed open compartment below takes up the lines of the vanity units.
