Bertrand Lejoly's Dream Bathroom

Bertrand Lejoly’s goal in designing his signature bathroom was to convey a sense of warmth, comfort, and intimacy. “I wanted to use warm materials and accessories to avoid the sterile and cold atmosphere that bathrooms sometimes exude,” explains the designer. And so he followed the trend of designing the bathroom as a warm retreat that combines an open layout with intimate elements, and whose materials harmonize perfectly with the desaturated moss green wall color.

Balanced floor plan

To strike a balance between an open and inviting bathroom on the one hand and an intimate retreat on the other, Bertrand Lejoly opted for an unconventional layout for the Double sink.

“I wanted to create a direct connection to the bedroom, so it was important to strike a balance between openness and a seamless transition between the two areas. At the same time, this creates a harmonious symmetry and makes optimal use of the space,” he explains.

The floor plan

Despite the open-concept bathroom design, Bertrand Lejoly has incorporated intimate private spaces into the layout. Behind two doors that provide the necessary privacy, the shower and toilet are situated.

Understated style

For the interior design, Bertrand Lejoly chose his own D-Neo bathroom collection, which he reinterpreted to suit the new setting: “D-Neo is subtle—and never overpowering. Yet the collection does not take a back seat; rather, it highlights the interior’s unique features.”

The versatility of D-Neo

The D-Neo complete bathroom collection, combined with warm and soft materials, serves as a canvas that allows you to infuse the space with your own personality. This flexibility offers the freedom to create something unique and timeless.

For the design, he opted for open, lightweight vanity cabinets that keep the most essential items within easy reach. The tall cabinets and the Bathtub blend seamlessly into this overall design.

Sink area and storage space

To maintain the clean lines of the design, Bertrand Lejoly has paired the minimalist vanity units with two tall cabinets, where all other products and linens are neatly stored behind closed doors. This preserves the bathroom’s airy feel without compromising on storage space.

The bathtub

The centerpiece of the bathroom is the freestanding bathtub from the D-Neo series. It stands out for its compact dimensions and velvety-smooth cast mineral finish.

Material selection and details

When it comes to choosing materials, Bertrand Lejoly opts for dark wood and black faucets. “Green plays a central role in the room and subtly complements the materials, bringing the entire space together,” he adds. As a result, the bathroom stands out from the otherwise subdued color scheme of the other rooms, creating a true sanctuary.

The shower and the shower toilet are located behind doors. When closed, the doors look like a wall unit, harmoniously completing the overall look of the bathroom.

The shower toilet

The shower is also located behind the door. The overhead shower provides a soothing shower experience, and the Concealed shower mixer blends seamlessly into the design.

Matching accessories

People often overlook the little details that make everyday life easier. That’s why Bertrand Lejoly chose towel hooks from the Starck T series in a matching black finish. Hand towels and bath towels can be hung right next to the vanity and in the passageway to the shower.
