Bertrand Lejoly

Bertrand Lejoly says of his own style that he cultivates simplicity. In his creations, he strikes the perfect balance between expressiveness and an unobtrusive design language. This balance is also reflected in how well the objects he designs fit into their surroundings. He is particularly attracted to playing with elements that are anchored in our collective memory. This inspiration makes Lejoly's designs timeless objects for everyday use.

Sophisticated simplicity

Bertrand Lejoly, born in 1980, grew up in the German-speaking part of Belgium, where he was influenced from an early age by Belgian, German and French culture.

After graduating from the École supérieure des arts Saint-Luc in Liège, he gained his first professional experience as an industrial designer in Germany. This was followed by Milan, where he worked for seven years as a senior designer with Matteo Thun. In 2013, he returned to Belgium and headed the design department of architect Vincent Van Duysen for many years. In 2018, Bertrand Lejoly opened his own design studio in Antwerp. For his design work, he draws on his many years of experience as a designer for architectural firms and uses his in-depth understanding of architecture and interior design to create entire interior designs, from furniture, lighting and sanitary products to tableware and accessories. For Duravit, Bertrand Lejoly designed the new D-Neo series, consisting of ceramics, furniture, bathtubs and faucets.
