Alternatively, a sloped screed with a shower channel or wall drain can be installed for shower cubicles without a tub. Walk-in showers without glass or other splash guards are more suitable for larger bathrooms due to the space required. This is because certain distances must be maintained from the nearest bathroom fixtures, such as the Bathtub, Sink or bidet.

Walk-in shower with wall

A walk-in shower with a glass wall or other splash guard requires less space and is the much more common design. This in turn means that a walk-in shower can also be installed in a small bathroom. In this case, the side walls automatically serve as splash protection. Alternatively, a walk-in shower can also be implemented with a half-brick or a fully-built wall. However, this is less common, but has the advantage of providing additional privacy.
