Sustainability Report (CSR)
Duravit's Sustainability Strategy
The Climate Mission is a key component of Duravit’s overarching sustainability strategy and is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We regularly review the effectiveness of the measures we have implemented, adjust them, expand them, and supplement them where appropriate. All measures fall under four overarching areas of activity:

Sustainability Report
Facts and figures, as well as further information on our current sustainability projects around the world, can be found in our latest sustainability report.

Responsible Water Management
Responsible water management is an essential part of our strategy. This strategy addresses the production process as well as product-related optimizations to ensure that end users use this resource sparingly.

Reduced Water Consumption in Production
To reduce water consumption, our Hornberg facility already uses 60% recycled water—more than 40,000 m³ per year. The proportion of fresh water is being steadily reduced. Water recycling is also being strongly promoted at other locations, partly within production and partly for irrigating green spaces.

Product-Specific, Responsible Water Management
We are constantly improving our products to reduce water consumption during use. For example, the use of the water-saving button has saved 290 million cubic meters of fresh water in Europe over the past 10 years. We optimized the rinse cycle for this purpose 15 years ago. In addition, the UWL (Unified Water Label) provides end consumers with transparent information about our products’ water consumption.

Responsibility in Consumption and Production
As a full-service bathroom solutions provider, Duravit is committed to using resources responsibly and offering durable, timeless products. To achieve our goals, we rely on new technologies, a resource-efficient approach to materials, and a “local-for-local” strategy.

Social Responsibility and Employee Satisfaction
We are mindful of our responsibility toward the environment, our employees, and future generations. Social sustainability, as an integral part of our sustainability strategy, focuses in particular on our employees and their well-being.

Water and Sanitation for Indian Schools
Duravit supports the goals of the World Toilet Day campaign launched by United Nations Water. As part of our CSR range, we have renovated or remodeled restrooms at nine schools in the Gujarat region over the past few years. In doing so, we have provided more than 3,200 children with access to hygienic sanitation facilities.

Well-being and Safety as the Foundation
Workplace safety, respect for human rights, and the long-term preservation of the physical and mental health of all employees are of particular importance to us. The well-being of our most important resource—our employees—is our top priority. Equally important to us is the involvement of all employees in achieving our ambitious sustainability goals.
Certifications
By participating in recognized testing and certification systems and holding memberships in leading industry associations, Duravit plays a pioneering role in the industry.
