Bidets
Hygienic and stylish

Floor-standing bidets
These are practical if the drain pipe connection is in the floor. The Duravit ME by Starck bidet from our star designer Philippe Starck is an iconic example of this.

Wall-mounted bidets
This type of bidet is the ideal addition to wall-mounted toilets. Thanks to their floating design, they make cleaning the floor easier. They are attached to bidet pre-wall elements and are ideal for smaller bathrooms.

Compact design
The space-saving bidet variant 'Compact' impresses with its shortened projection and was explicitly designed for confined spaces. This means that hygienic intimate care is not compromised in small bathrooms after using the toilet.

Frequently asked questions
What is a bidet?
A bidet is a low washbasin that you sit on and is used for simple intimate hygiene after using the toilet. The water that comes out of the bidet tap makes intimate hygiene after using the toilet thorough and gentle at the same time. Modern bidets have a bidet shower so that you don't have to use your hands to clean yourself. Due to their practical shape, bidets are also often used for other purposes, such as washing or refreshing the feet.
There are three different types of installation: the floor-standing bidet, the wall-mounted bidet and the Duravit Compact bidet.
Tip: Your bathroom is too small for an extra bidet? Shower-toilets are all-in-one solutions that are particularly space-saving and offer a variety of functions.
What are the advantages of a bidet?
A bidet offers numerous conveniences. It cleans the bottom and genitals gently and carefully with water. Rinsing with pure water helps to prevent soreness that can result from the friction caused by using a lot of toilet paper. In addition, water is more hygienic than toilet paper, since the latter only removes the coarsest dirt and can leave residues in small skin folds. These are removed by using the shower head. Bidets are therefore also ideal for people who have sensitive skin or suffer from hemorrhoids. The hygienic shower also minimizes the risk of skin inflammation, since toilet paper is not germ-free.
Bidets are not only more hygienic than using toilet paper, they are also better for the environment. Although a little more water is used, the amount of toilet paper used is drastically reduced, since it is only needed for drying. Alternatively, a towel can be used to eliminate toilet paper altogether. This is because the production of toilet paper requires a lot of energy and valuable resources. Once you have experienced the advantages of a bidet, you usually don't want to do without it.
How do you use a bidet properly?
Using a bidet is basically quite simple and becomes even easier once you have developed a routine:
After using the toilet, you can sit on the bidet, stand over it or squat so that the bidet shower head can be used to gently clean the intimate area.
It doesn't matter whether you sit facing the wall or the other way around on the bidet seat.
Depending on your preference, you can either fill the bidet basin with water or use the bidet shower head, which allows for precise and easy adjustment of the water jet thanks to its ball joint.
Whether you prefer to clean yourself by hand or with a soft washcloth varies from person to person. Soap should not be used for cleaning, as the skin in the genital area is particularly sensitive and can quickly become irritated. Special feminine hygiene products can be used that maintain the flora in the genital area and are free from chemical additives. Finally, dry yourself with a towel or some toilet paper.
