Flushing urinals

Urinals usually have a flush that can be activated either manually or touch-free using infrared technology. High-traffic public toilets usually have an electronic flush that automatically activates at regular intervals to ensure a minimum level of hygiene.

Rimless urinals

Thanks to the innovative water flow, urinals without a rim, with Duravit Rimless® technology, ensure a perfect and clean flush.

Waterless urinals

In waterless urinals, the urine is drained away using a float or membrane mechanism. This is particularly environmentally friendly due to the low water consumption. The siphon draws the urine into the drain by means of negative pressure. This means that there are no residues and unpleasant odors are avoided. Without water, urine scale cannot form either. Duravit dry urinals are equipped with a hose membrane that opens automatically when urine flows through and then closes again.

Advantages of urinals

A major advantage of urinals is the comfort factor. If you are in a hurry, it is extremely practical and convenient to be able to relieve yourself while standing. Especially in households with several people, a urinal can help to avoid bottlenecks. For people with limited mobility, too, being able to use the toilet while standing can make things easier. In addition to the comfort factor, urinals are extremely space-saving due to the lack of a cistern, making them ideal for guest toilets. They are also easy to clean and therefore very hygienic.

In the long term, urinals use less water because, compared to conventional toilets, they only use between one and two liters of water per flush instead of three to six liters. This also results in a financial advantage. Siphonic urinals use significantly less water and are therefore more environmentally friendly. Another advantage is that blockages are avoided and the siphon trap prevents odors even with intensive use. Thanks to low follow-up costs and few repairs, maintenance is particularly inexpensive.

Tip: If you value comfort and hygiene, a bidet is an ideal addition to your bathroom. However, if you want to save space and enjoy a touch of luxury, a shower toilet is the right choice.
