Gold medal by EcoVadis

What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading platforms for rating sustainability performance. Companies are assessed based on four central criteria: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The aim is to create transparency and drive continual improvements in global supply chains. Over 130,000 companies around the world use EcoVadis as the standard for responsible actions.
Local supply chains and climate-neutral processes
At global level, too, Duravit prides itself on ensuring that its measures go beyond the minimum statutory requirements. These include a climate-neutral firing process, the implementation of the “local for local” principle with regional production along with investments in innovative technologies – all of which is the case with the recently opened ceramic plant in Canada. This initiative demonstrates a courageous approach to blazing new trails and is driving genuine change. The result: it sets a clear signal and defines new standards in the sector.

Sustainability is an integral component of our actions and shapes our decisions. The award confirms that we’re not simply treading water and defining targets, but we’re forging ahead to implement them.
Transparency & certainty
The EcoVadis gold medal is a welcome addition to existing sustainability initiatives and certifications that represent transparency and verified standards. Duravit is a member of leading organizations such as the German Society for Sustainable Building (DGNB) and the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU) and supports programs such as LEED for sustainable buildings. Duravit’s commitment additionally covers environmental product declarations (EPD) and international standards such as ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 9001 for quality, and ISO 50001 for energy management. These measures offer certainty for customers: verified criteria, transparent processes, and a clear drive for quality, energy efficiency, and responsibility.
