Toilet seats
The ideal toilet seat for your toilet
The toilet seat with the perfect shape
When looking for the right toilet seat, you should always note the outer shape of the toilet and the hinge distance. Although toilets are not standardized, there are some shapes and sizes that have become established among manufacturers. The most important thing is that the toilet and toilet seat, which consists of the toilet seat and lid, must form a single unit. Either the bathroom ceramics and seat are flush with each other or you can deliberately choose a toilet seat that protrudes a few millimeters above the Toilet. Some toilet seats have a slightly protruding toilet lid so that the toilet seat is not touched when opening and closing.

D-shaped toilet seat
A toilet seat with a D-shaped toilet lid is very modern and is often used with wall-mounted toilets.

O-shaped toilet seat
The oval O-shape is also used for wall-hung toilets and is probably the most common shape overall.

Square toilet seat
The toilet lid in an angular shape is rather rare, but in combination with the matching toilet a modern design statement.

Toilet seat with slow-close function
A toilet seat with a slow-close function is comfortable, quiet and practical: the innovative closing mechanism of the toilet seat with a slow-close function prevents the toilet lid from slamming down onto the toilet seat. A gentle tap is all that is needed to close it.
Find and fit the right toilet seat
When changing the toilet lid, it is important to know the dimensions and outer contour of the toilet bowl, in addition to the shape of the toilet seat. The dimensions can be determined in advance by measuring the length of the toilet bowl from the mounting hole to the front edge, the width and the distance between the mounting holes. When taking measurements, accuracy is important. Proper mounting of the toilet seat not only ensures that the seat does not slip, but also ensures that it perfectly matches the toilet in terms of appearance.

Our portfolio includes Duravit toilet lids and toilet seats – the perfect match for every toilet. Depending on the model, the toilet seats can be easily removed with a simple hand movement without the use of any tools, e.g. using push buttons on the side. This makes it possible to reach even hard-to-access places, making it easier to clean the toilet seat and lid as well as the rest of the toilet.

Toilet seat material
Duravit generally uses two different materials in its toilet seats and lids:
Urea
Urea is a hard and stable material that is characterized above all by its scratch-resistant finish. Its quality and appearance are of a very high standard, making toilet seats made of thermoset particularly robust and durable.
Polypropylene/Thermoplastic (PP)
PP, also known as a thermoplastic, is a comparatively soft material. It is potentially more susceptible to scratches, but it still withstands the demands of the Chinese Rocker test. The easy-care plastic is therefore very suitable as a toilet seat material. Toilet seats made of thermoplastic are relatively inexpensive and also recyclable.
Hinges

Toilet seats are always anchored to the toilet bowl by means of hinges. At Duravit, you will find these in plastic and rustproof stainless steel.
