Floor-standing toilet with or without a tank

Whether you need a tank for a floor-standing toilet is certainly one of the key considerations when making your selection. The following combinations are available:

Floor-standing toilet with wall-mounted tank

In this version, the floor-standing toilet and the tank form a single visual unit. This makes it particularly easy to create aesthetic accents.

With this type of installation, there is no visible toilet tank; instead, the flushing components are installed behind the wall. This solution creates a particularly clean, streamlined look.

Floor-standing toilet with a vertical or horizontal outlet

When choosing a floor-standing toilet, the structural layout of the bathroom should also be taken into account. For floor-standing toilets, a vertical outlet can be selected provided that the drain pipe also runs vertically through the floor. Conversely, floor-standing toilets with a horizontal outlet are particularly suitable for pipes running horizontally within the wall. However, if the structural requirements do not align with personal preferences, Vario kits can be used to install models with either a vertical or horizontal outlet onto the other type of drain.

The water flow in floor-standing toilets can also be selected according to individual preferences. You can choose between washdown and washout toilets, as well as those with or without a rim.

  • Washdown and washout toilets
    The difference lies in the internal design of the toilet. The floor-standing toilet with a washdown toilet is the more common, modern version, while the floor-standing toilet with a washout toilet is primarily found in medical settings.
  • With or without arim
    While a rim was once standard primarily for technical reasons, rimless floor-standing toilets are no longer an issue in modern bathrooms. The advantages of rimless floor-standing toilets include improved hygiene and easier cleaning, combined with effective flushing performance.
