Designer duo in a class of its own

The designer duo Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez are among the few designers who create room concepts that inspire both emotionally and sensually. Their designs, which can be found all over the world, are characterized by individuality and integrity.

Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez

Thun's designs have their origins in his years of training under Oskar Kokoschka and Emilio Vedova at the Salzburg Academy and the University of Florence. He continued his studies under Ettore Sottsass, before co-founding the famous Memphis Group with him in 1981. After several years as a professor of design in Vienna, Thun launched the design studio that bears his name in 1984.

Antonio Rodriguez initially studied in Valencia, where he developed his philosophy of enhancing everyday objects with high-quality design. After working with internationally renowned brands, he joined Matteo Thun's design studio in 1999.

Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez founded the MTD-r studio together in 2001. Their designs are characterized above all by a combination of intuitive functionality and sophisticated aesthetics.
