Frank Huster

Frank Huster, born in 1939, studied architecture and interior design in Stuttgart. In his office together with Peter Hübner, he developed, among other things, toys made of cardboard, folded plate constructions and cardboard paravents for the Munich Olympics from 1970 to 1978.

In his own architecture and development firm, he focused on prefabricated construction systems made of steel and plastic, then on prefabricated bathroom pods, sustainable product concepts and barrier-free construction. As part of his professorship at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences, Department of Design, he gave lectures on construction-related design and technical development from 1985 to 2006. In 1993, Frank Huster designed the still successful and constantly expanding Architec ceramics program for public and semi-public areas for Duravit. The floor-level Duraplan shower tray program followed in 2009.
