Our Duravit medicine cabinets have top, side or 4-sided lighting. The light comes from the front and illuminates the face perfectly without straining the eyes or causing glare. To further protect the eyes, our medicine cabinets from the L-Cube series, for example, are equipped with ambient lighting, which provides indirect illumination. The practical medicine cabinets with lighting are suitable for any bathroom, because they make the room brighter and friendlier.

Our Duravit medicine cabinets are all available with lighting and are equipped with LEDs. Medicine cabinets with LED lighting have the advantage that they consume less energy than conventional lamps and are therefore more energy efficient. In addition, LEDs generate less heat, which in turn protects the medicine cabinet. With a lifespan of over 30,000 hours, they are also particularly durable.
Medicine cabinets suitable for use in damp rooms
However, medicine cabinet lighting is not the only quality feature. Bathrooms are humid environments. To protect our bathroom furniture from this, it is designed and constructed to be suitable for use in damp rooms. This means that Duravit medicine cabinets have no open edges and are equipped with IP44 splash protection. In addition, our bathroom furniture is 100% made in Germany.

LED dimming function
To avoid being disturbed by too bright light in the morning, the LED lighting can be dimmed individually and according to your own preferences.
LED interior lighting
The interior of the mirror cabinet stores everyday items for your bathroom routine. The LED interior lighting is ideal for preventing long searches. This function is also available with an automatic on/off function.
Wash area lighting
The wash area lighting is located on the underside of the medicine cabinet and illuminates your vanity in the best possible way. The function is either already integrated or can optionally be added at the factory.
Doors mirrored on both sides
The doors of Duravit's medicine cabinets are mirrored on the inside as well. This makes it easy to see all sides of yourself when the doors are open. Some models also have a mirrored back panel.

These are models with a touch-free external control unit on the medicine cabinet. In addition to dimmable illumination, the ambient lighting can also be adjusted using the icons.
Sensor switches
Depending on the model, there is a sensor switch on the outside of the medicine cabinet. It detects movement, allowing the light to be controlled without contact.

Installing a medicine cabinet
General recommendation: To ensure that nothing is damaged during installation of the medicine cabinet and that it is properly installed, we recommend that installation be carried out by qualified personnel. Once the perfect medicine cabinet has been found, installation may present a challenge. We provide some hints and tips to make installing the medicine cabinet as easy as possible. However, this does not replace the installation instructions provided.
1. Height
First of all, you need to consider a suitable height. Medicine cabinets in the bathroom should always be at eye level so that you can comfortably and easily see yourself in the mirror. To achieve this, the center of the cabinet should be at a height of about 165 cm.
2. Wall positioning
Most bathrooms are tiled. So you should make sure that the drill holes are not directly on the tiles, as these can break when drilling holes. It is more advisable to use the joints for the suspension. It looks particularly aesthetic when the medicine cabinet ends flush with the tile joints. Since the medicine cabinet is equipped with light, make sure that there is a power connection in close proximity.
3. The right tool
Depending on the wall texture, a suitable drill bit may be needed for installation. Mark the appropriate place for the drill holes with a pencil. A spirit level will also help with installation so that the medicine cabinet is not mounted at an angle later on.
4. Installation
In addition to the tools, dowels and suitable screws are also required for mounting. After the holes have been drilled, the dowels can be pressed into the holes and the screws can be inserted. Depending on whether it is a bathroom medicine cabinet with light and/or socket and where the power connection is located, the circuit may have to be closed before hanging. This work should also be carried out properly by qualified personnel. The last step is to hang the medicine cabinet according to the assembly instructions.
