Szymanowskiego

Welcome to Szymanowskiego – a unique and extremely stylish apartment in the heart of the Oliwa district in Gdansk, Poland. The luxurious conversion on Szymanowskiego Street was designed and realized by the architectural firm Raca Architekci. In the 79 m² space, they created an oasis of calm in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Gdansk. The client's wishes were for an optimal room layout and intelligent storage solutions paired with a stylish modern design. The entrance area was designed without a corridor or hall to enlarge the room and create more comfort. The intelligent room layout, with a living room, combined bedroom-bathroom area and music room, offers the optimal balance between a place of retreat and a spacious living area.

Design with depth

Upon entering, a variety of compositions made of geometric shapes and natural materials reveal themselves: different types of wood, natural stone and velour give the interior depth. Despite the minimalist design, the scenery appears multifaceted and provides haptic and visual impressions through varying wood grains and diverse surfaces. Finally, the color palette in muted nuances underscores the calm overall picture: warm gray tones, dark petrol accentuated with gold and matt black combine with warm wood tones to create recurring design elements.

Space to live: comfort over 79 m²

The spacious main room houses the living and dining areas, with the kitchen at the heart of the apartment. The kitchen furniture features large, warm gray surfaces for the cooking island, on which a worktop made of fine Bardiglio marble sits enthroned. Gold-colored accessories complement the kitchen and, thanks to the color contrast, look like pieces of jewelry. The rest of the main room is taken up by the dining and living area, which – thanks to generous window fronts – let in plenty of natural daylight and offer a breathtaking view of the historic district of Strzyże. Despite the open-plan design, high-quality velour curtains in petrol ensure privacy. Numerous practical built-in cupboards ensure a tidy living environment and bring calm and elegance to the entire apartment.

The perfect place to relax

The exquisite interior design extends into the bedroom, which is directly connected to the bathroom by an impressive glass loft door. Curtains create the desired privacy. The sophisticated washbasin area, consisting of a natural stone console with a molded back wall and the elegant, delicate countertop basin from the Luv series by Duravit, proves to be an eye-catcher. A congenial constellation that fits perfectly into the overall interior. The same oval design language is reflected in the bathroom mirror, which forms a harmonious contrast to the paneled wooden wall. Despite limited space, an exclusive bathroom was created that leaves nothing to be desired.
