- Duravit group’s CEO, Franz Kook
The Duravit AG – internationally renowned for its leading-edge bathroom designs and now operating in 90 countries around the globe – was established over 190 years ago, right in the heart of the Black Forest. Having its roots in this exceptional natural landscape has profoundly influenced the company’s history and ideology. Consideration of environmental impacts in the choice of materials, production processes, use of resources and recycling, and organisation of the workplace, have been an integral part of Duravit’s philosophy right from the start. As the group’s CEO, Franz Kook, puts it: “A healthy environment is our most valuable possession, and all our endeavours should aim to protect and preserve it to the best of our abilities. Water, air, soil – all of these are essential to sustain quality of life and even life itself for the human race.” Whether it’s products that save water in use or manufacturing processes that minimise the use of resources – “green” thinking is engrained in everything the company does.
One source of our tremendous strength is our deep roots, which we continue to cultivate. As a partner and sponsor of the Black Forest, a nature reserve and Germany’s largest natural park, living in harmony with nature has always been the most natural thing in the world for Duravit.
Environmental commitment
Five hundred pine trees, which actively produce fresh air, are growing on 3.500 square metres of land in Tuzla. The land is now owned by Duravit Turkey. The Duravit employees were eagerly involved in the planting of the trees. The new plantation was christened „Duravit Memorial Forest“.

- In recognition of its commitment to the environment, Duravit AG has been certified as an eco-friendly enterprise in accordance with ISO 14001.
