Many people find a steam bath more agreeable than a traditional sauna. The low temperatures (approx. 45°-50°C and a relative humidity of 100% are ideal for relaxing. The steam bath has a beneficial effect on tense nerves and cramped muscles. It opens the pores and deep-cleanses, stimulating the circulation and invigorating the skin. It improves muscle and joint mobility and relieves mild rheumatic pain. The hot steam is especially beneficial for people with respiratory conditions. Adding ethereal oils brings additional positive effects for the respiration.
The optimal preparation to get your body ready for a steam bath is to shower for at least 5 minutes with warm water. The skin is cleansed, the pores are opened and you start to forget the day.
Five pre-programmed massage cycles ensure pure relaxation. Programs 1-3 are suitable for massage while standing, 4-5 for a sitting position. After sporting activity, the circulation is stimulated and tension relieved. The massage should last for approximately 5-6 minutes. After the massage, switch on the steam generator!
Taking a break of around 5 minutes in a relaxed sitting position allows the entire organism to relax while the steam generator is doing its job.
Relaxing for 15-20 minutes in the steam has numerous effects: it activates the immune system, increases cardiac load, cleanses your skin pore-deep, improves circulation, stimulates cell renewal, purifies and brings deep muscular relaxation.
The hand-held spray or the Kneipp hose is used to help the body cool down. This temporarily narrows the blood vessels. Cool your body 2-3 times during the warming phase (see no.4).
5 to 10 minutes breathing fresh air have the effect of filling the lungs and enriching the blood with plenty of fresh oxygen.
Rinsing the entire body for approx. 1 minute makes the skin tauter, helping it to regenerate - and feel smooth to the touch. The temperature changes (warm/cold) stimulate the circulation and clean the pores.
Lie down on a recliner and relax for 15-20 minutes. This energizes the immune system, relieves the circulation, slows the heartbeat and stimulates kidney function (purification), helping you to feel refreshed!
2-3 steam sessions (each consisting of a warming phase and a cooling phase) are necessary in order to achieve maximum benefit for both body and spirit.
As a final step at the end of a steam bath you should give your body liquid: drink at least 1 litre to replace lost fluids. You'll feel refreshed and relaxed at the same time - in perfect balance
